De regreso a la Constitución de Pinochet

Abstract

En esta respuesta señalo la complementariedad metodológica entre mi análisis (con fundamentos institucionales y comparativos) y mis interlocutores (con base en la realidad histórica y política de Chile), e indico cómo ambos llegan a conclusiones comunes. Posteriormente me enfoco en las diferencias entre mecanismos políticos (reemplazo o cambio gradual con o sin reparar el defecto de nacimiento de la Constitución actual), y presento el juego estratégico entre izquierda y derecha sobre asuntos constitucionales.

In this response I point out the methodological complementarity between my analysis (based on institutional and comparative grounds) and my discussants (based on the historical and political reality of Chile), and point out how both come to common conclusions. Then, I focus on the differences among policy prescriptions (replacement, or incremental change with or without repair of the birth defect of the current constitution), and present the strategic game between the Left and Right on constitutional issues.
