Del estadio a las calles: la violencia de las barras bravas en el futbol mexicano

Abstract

Con cánticos, gritos, banderas e instrumentos musicales, las barras bravas aportan color a los estadios durante los partidos de futbol en México. No obstante, la pasión por un equipo, el alcohol y las drogas puede desembocar en actos violentos e inseguridad para todos los asistentes a un inmueble. La implementación del Protocolo de Seguridad “Estadio Seguro” de la Federación Mexicana de Futbol y la Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana busca erradicar la violencia en los estadios por parte de cualquier aficionado. Desafortunadamente, las medidas de seguridad establecidas no se cumplen al pie de la letra por los clubes, quienes prefieren pagar millonarias multas a invertir en una infraestructura que garantice la participación adecuada de los barristas y la seguridad de todos los que asisten a un partido. El presente trabajo ofrece un panorama sobre la violencia que se vive en el futbol mexicano provocado por las barras bravas de los equipos y la falta de seriedad que las autoridades futbolísticas y del Estado dan al tema, ya que prefieren enfrascarse en los beneficios monetarios que obtienen con el actual sistema o tienen su atención fija en otros problemas.

Singing and shouting, with flags and musical instruments, the barras bravas give color to the stadiums every time a team plays a soccer match in Mexico. However, the passion for a team, alcohol and drugs can lead to violent acts and create an insecure environment for all the people that attend a game. The Mexican Soccer Federation and the Security Secretary seek to eradicate the violence in stadiums with the help of a protocol call “Estadio Seguro”. Unfortunately, the Mexican soccer teams don’t follow the security measures because they prefer to pay millions in fines, instead of investing in infrastructure that guarantees the proper participation of the barristas and the safety of everyone who attends a match. This investigation offers an overview of the violence experienced in Mexican soccer, caused by the barras bravas and the lack of seriousness that the authorities give to the subject, since they prefer to focus in the monetary benefits they obtain with the current system or have their attention on other problems.
